On Friday, 20 February 2015, the North West Provincial Language Committee celebrated a very prestigious event. Guests from all over the North West Province received a special invitation to celebrate The International Mother Language Day which was held at the Orion Hotel in Rustenburg.
Many Kgosi (Chiefs),The HonourableMEC Wendy Matsemela from the Department of Education and Sports Development and other prominent people attended the function. The MEC together with other dignitaries shared some words of wisdom with those fortunate enough to attend.
The North West Provincial Language Committee together with the HonourableMEChonoured the best performing learners in the Province under the various official languages of our beautiful country. Zinniaville Secondary School's principal, MrAbdull, the Grade 12 Afrikaans educator, MrsEngelbrecht, our awardee FaheemaPandor and her parents were one of the guests at this prestigious gathering.
FaheemaPandor (2014 Grade 12) learner was chosen as the best Afrikaans First Additional Language learner in the Province. Faheema was presented with a cheque worth R4000, an Apple I-pad, a massive dictionary, as well as other small incentives. It certainly was a proud moment for all at Zinniaville Secondary School.
